Passion for Education, Community at Heart

Shinagawa International School believes education extends beyond the classroom. Guided by our SHARK values (strength, honesty, adaptability, respect and kindness), students are encouraged to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Through the International Baccalaureate programs, service learning, leadership opportunities, clubs and international experiences, students develop confidence, discover their passions and become compassionate, resilient global citizens.
As of 2026, SIS is home to approximately 470 students representing more than 40 nationalities, creating a truly international learning environment. To maintain this diversity, we implement a 25% nationality cap, ensuring that no single nationality exceeds one quarter of any class. This allows students to learn alongside peers from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and perspectives, fostering an international mindset and mutual respect.
What sets SIS apart is the way we intentionally balance academic excellence with character development and a strong sense of community. As a growing school, we continually innovate while ensuring every student is known, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our connected approach helps students thrive both in school and beyond.
